I love the idea of trying to simplify my life. And I always think I’m doing a great job… until it’s time to clean my house.

Why do I have so much stuff to dust under, sweep around and wipe off?

I look at the home of Edwin & Carol, who live in a tiny little house in beautiful Costa Rica and I think to myself, “Now that is the ultimate life of simplicity.”

How important is it to worry about how many throw pillows to put on the bed or making sure that the bathroom towels coordinate with the rug on the floor?

I realize that life is about spending time with those you love and making sure that the insignificant things we are bombarded with each day don’t get in the way of what is most important — family.

I have a lot to learn from this beautiful family. Simple really is better.

Remind me of that next time I complain about my internet connection being too slow.
